This handprinted screen print on French paper shows a strange girl, beautiful, otherworldly, and completely with her own magic and mind. Standing tall behind her grows a ceiba tree which is surrounded by beauty, the tree’s flowers and the presence of a chuparosa. The tree bears thorns that delicately emerge from her visage, a reminder of both fragility and resilience. The ceiba, a sacred tree, unveils her celestial and earthly ties, bridging the realms of heaven and the underworld. This work is a smaller version of the larger color reduction woodcut.
